Classes and educational offerings

Please register for any class you plan to attend. Classes without enough pre-registrants may be canceled. All those who are preregistered will be notified if there is a cancellation. All classes and events are at Omaha Whole Living.  OWL is a few blocks North of Mutual of Omaha and Midtown Crossing. The address is 521 N 33rd Street, Omaha, NE.  There is on-street parking as well as a small gravel parking lot across the street.  Please arrive on time so that classes can begin on time.

Year ONE - New Students - Omaha 2020  LIVE ONLINE VIA ZOOM


Due to COVID-19 this class will now be an online class. Students need to be registered by April 1st ideally in order to get your books in time before the first class. Class are 9:00 AM Central Time - 2:00 PM Central Time with a 30 minute lunch break.


This is my 5th year teaching this herbal intensive. The first year we use Rosemary Gladstar's program as the base to build from and go more in-depth from there. We learn body system by body system with a focus on learning categories of herbs as well as individual herbs that have an affinity for different body systems. This first year gives you the ability to help friends and family with common concerns. For those who choose to continue in Year 2 and 3 we dive deeper into several methodologies to look at the body in a more proactive way.



Classes begin in April 25th, 2020! Classes will then be the 2nd Saturday of each month. Except the April class due to Easter.



There is a minimum class size of 15 and a maximum of 30.

$85 each month



$85 discount if the year’s tuition is paid when classes begin.

Expand your ability and confidence in supporting your families’ health. This is a systematic look at how to address wellness concerns from a folk herbalism perspective. This year long program was created by renowned herbalist Rosemary Gladstar. Using her very hands on approach to learning and her extensive course binder we will focus on a new discussion topic each month with additional discussion and materials provided by Kate Bodmann. We will create health promoting herbal preparations each month for you to use with your family. We will have wild-crafting opportunities as well as field trips for those interested. Upon completion of assignments, course of study and review by Kate Bodmann a certificate of completion will be awarded from Rosemary Gladstar.



*Those who are interested can continue for a Year Two Program where we look at herbal theory and approaches to getting to the root of health patterns using Traditional Chinese Medicine patterns such as Five Element theory and Chinese Organ systems. We also look at Western Tissue States and Ayurvedic doshas to help us get a fuller picture of those whom we are trying to help.

Year One - Returning Students - Omaha LIVE ONLINE VIA ZOOM

This listing is for those students who completed Year 1 and would like to repeat the year. The initial registration is $50 to cover materials through the year and to claim your spot in class. Your monthly payment will be $45 per class if you completed Year 1. If you did not complete Year 1 and dropped prior to 9 mos of class then you will need to register as a new student.

Herbal Intensive Program - Year 3 - Omaha LIVE ONLINE VIA ZOOM


​Year 3 is for those who want to continue on their herbal learning journey.



Year 3 we continue looking at Chinese Organ systems. We apply what we learned from Western Herbalism, Ayurveda, and Chinese theories to develop approaches to use for clients and case studies.


​Year 3 will continue to focus on applied knowledge; case studies, individual experiences with herbs, differential diagnosis, and practitioner tips.



Class will be the 1st Saturday of the month from 9:00-1:00 from April 2020 through March 2019. There is an initial registration of $100 which holds your space and will cover your first class. Each class after that will be $75.



 *Please only enroll in this continuing class if you are committed to completing either 6 mos or the full year of this series. This class must meet minimum registration numbers to continue.

Classes - Essential Oil 102: Practical Applications Available Upon Request 6:00-8:00

Learn the basics of choosing oils to support your health and practical applications for using essential oils. We will discuss in depth my most recommended 15 oils. We will discuss various methods of use such as diffusion, steam inhalation, personal inhalers, compresses, and massage oils and what oils you might choose for different applications.

Learn how to use essential oils to improve your health. This is a series of classes open to anyone wanting to learn the basics of essential oils and how to use them safely. In Essential Oil 101 we will cover common misconceptions, basic safety information such as how to safely dilute and what oils might require more caution. We will discuss the benefits and risks of using oils by diffusing, topically and internally. This first class is a requirement in order to take future essential oils classes. 


Once you are finished with EO 101 your class will be offered to continue learning by taking Essential Oil 102 on a date that you choose. In EO 102 we will look closely at 15 of my most used oils. We will discuss specific applications and unique benefits and risks of each individual oil. With these two classes we will have covered the basics that will help keep you and your family safely and effectively using essential oils.

This is an ongoing offering if you have a group of 4 people interested we can set up a date that works for your group! If you don't have a group but would like to take this class please let me know and I can try to gather a small group of individuals.
