Healing with Herbs

The world around us is bountiful.  Some of it is destroyed for our use thanks to industrial pollution but there is still so much that is unspoiled and free for those who seek it.  Most of us are just discovering and trying to reconnect with our more natural roots.  We are nurturing our appreciation for these gifts from nature and training our eyes to see them.  There is so much that nature gives us that we don't need processed and delivered to us by mega-corporations.  Our own backyards and wild spaces are bountiful with healing herbs.

If you are healthy and trying to stay that way herbs can be of great help to enhance your life.  Or if you are struggling with a health condition and conventional health care is not working for you or you are simply looking for an alternative, herbs can support your body's ability to naturally heal itself.

Herbalism is not a new fad in healthcare.  It was the primary mode of healthcare for thousands of years before modern pharmaceuticals were introduced less than 100 years ago. In much of the world traditional herbal medicine is still the primary health care that is used to maintain health as well as treat illnesses.  Conventional medicine excels at providing us with emergency care and high stakes medicine but many would agree that it is somewhat lacking in improving our overall health, helping to reduce the incidence of chronic disease or reducing our dependence on pharmaceutical drugs.  We have much to learn from traditional medicine in this regard.

Herbal medicine is an alternative method of supporting your body when dealing with many physical and emotional health issues. Common chronic ailments herbs have historically helped with are eczema and skin issues, seasonal allergies, respiratory issues, digestive disturbances and pains, reproductive health issues and dysfunction, post-partum depression, anxiety, fatigue, depression and more.  As an herbalist I do not technically treat these conditions, these improvements in health are due to the body being in a better state of health and bodily systems working in a more balanced way.
