Nourishing Your Liver in Springtime

Little peeps of sunshine have been popping out this week. The earth will slowly awaken and we will be gifted with tiny blossoms of health soon! Some may call these little gifts weeds but we all know better! It is amazing how nature provides us with all that we need to move our bodies out of the heaviness of winter; sunshine to brighten and lift us and herbs to help cleanse our bodies from the stagnation that has built up over the winter. Once the weather warms up a bit we want to be choosing fresh greens and sour foods and drinks like lemon water to nourish and support our liver.

While it isn’t quite time for a liver cleanse for another month or so, it is always the right time to build up and strengthen our liver for optimal health. Herbs like Milk Thistle, Turmeric, and Schisandra are especially helpful for building. If you are feeling sluggish, emotionally or hormonally imbalanced, or your skin or eyes are not feeling their brightest now is the perfect time to come in and see me. Get a kick start on your allergies as well!
