Sattva comes from the Ayurveda tradition and is one of the three primary qualities. It is about cultivating balance and harmony in your life. Seeking out a way to have your life be holistically enriching to your spirit.

There are 5 simple ways to cultivate more sattva in daily life!

🍒 Nourishment - Nourish your body with foods that have a vibrant nature. An easy way to do this is to increase color rich foods! The more colorful your plate the healthier it is!

🎿 Physical activity - Choose a physical activity that you ENJOY! This can be hiking in the snow or dancing in your living room! Fresh air is lifting to the spirit.  If you have cold weather gear try getting outside for a few minutes every day!

🦋 Work-life balance - Check in with yourself from time to time and be honest about if your life is feeling out of balance. Do you need help shifting anything?

🌄 Spiritual practice - A spiritual practice can give us focus to our day and help us release worry and tension and bring us a sense a peace.  This can be so many things from spending time in nature, meditating, praying, or enjoying a quiet early morning reflection time.  How can you make time for yourself a priority in your life?

🌞 Attitude - Keeping a grateful mindset can be hard some days. If you need help getting exercise, better nourishment, or life balance into your daily rhythm consider signing up for a health coach package with me! As a Holistic Life and Health Coach I'd be happy to assist you. Sometimes we just need a little help and accountability.

1. Eat well! Eat foods that are healthy but also foods that nourish your spirit and feed you visually.

2. Get quality sleep! Ideally we should go to sleep before 11:00 when our Liver and Gallbladder begin their work of detoxing for the night.

3. Take nourishing herbs! Adaptogens, Nervines, Nourishing herbs! We ALL need to be on a regular regimin to support our mind, body, spirit. Include herbs like Astragalus that are to be taken over the long term to deeply nourish and rebuild the immune reservoirs.

4. Deep breathing! When we are stressed we tend to breath shallowly. Breathe like you are filling up a swim tube around your belly! Deep breathing supports detoxification by our lungs and it can calm down our overtaxed vagus nerve!

5. Keep your spirit and energy up! Think of what you are taking in through media. Is it lifting you or dragging you down?

All of these things are important for prevention and good health.
